Have you ever considered what it requires to make a blog? To make a blog yourself is much easier than you think and you can share your do it yourself projects, write real-life stories, make online friends, or sell a product(s) you make. In fact, that’s why I started this blog.
I had just experienced some.., well, “experiences” in my life that were way out there in “unbelievable” land as far as being likely to have happened to a large percentage of the population! I was thinking about what had happened and how there was a crime, suspense, criminals, lawyers, doctors, therapists (that was completely necessary!) and it just hit my brain one day that, whoah!, I should write this down! It plays out like a suspense novel only this was my life! Eeeeeek. That’s how I felt the whole time!
I turned it into a book called Justice Unkown, and I’ve been blogging ever since. It is the best job I could have ever picked, especially since I wasn’t accustomed to working outside the home all the years my kids were young. I tried other jobs, and they weren’t for me. I’m the creative type. If I have to do something monotonous all day long, I turn into a crazy woman! And if I try not to be crazy, I’m just plain bummed and sad. Nothing puts out a creative person’s flame for life than taking away all their time that they could be creatively satisfied.
So blogging saved my sanity or happiness you could say. I love putting things out there for hundreds of thousands of people to see, and I love when I meet others across the world that feel the same way I do. There is nothing like it. And on top of all that to be able to make money doing it is a wonderful thing. Currently, I sell my book and my 2018 Planner and a Self Empowerment Course. If anyone tells you that you can’t make money on a blog, they are wrong!
When you are ready to start your website, you will need to pick a company to host it. Bluehost is a great company to choose for your site. Right now you can start your own website for $2.97 a month! That is pennies a day to do something you love! And if you’re skeptical about trying a blog you’re not losing much if it’s not a good fit, which by the way doesn’t happen often. Bluehost’s website is easy to use, and they have videos explaining how to set up your blog. Even if you know very little about tech stuff, you will be fine because everything is designed so those of us who are technologically challenged can do it.
One of the fun and easiest things to do to get people to your blog and be able to advertise for free is through the use of Pinterest! Not only is Pinterest fun to use it can be the one thing you do that makes you money. There are websites life Canva that are for people like me who have no idea how to make pictures on a computer, but Canva gets it. They make it easy and it’s a lot of fun!
So as soon as you design your first pin you might start hearing from friends who see it, and other people from all over the world will visit your blog. However, if you want to make a business out of your blog, there are some tricks of the trade that “Carolyn Vencil” discovered that gave her the ability to make up to $9000. a month! It’s amazing, right? A website that performs well as a business requires some inside knowledge that is taught in perfect detail with her course, “Group Board Master.” This course will teach you all about group boards on Pinterest and how to use them to build traffic to your website.
Tailwind (click on the photo below) is a great time saver in setting up your Pinterest Pins. Tailwind schedules the pins you pick to go out at the times when it will most likely be seen by your audience (followers home feed on Pinterest). I noticed a difference in my traffic to my site almost immediately. The cheapest plan is all you need ($9.99 a month) to get started, and they offer a free 30-day trial.
Another great scheduling site is BoardBooster. These companies will pin for you daily so you don’t have to do it every day and you can work on your blog.
If you don’t have your product to sell on your website no worries, you can be an “affiliate” and sell other companies products. Bloggers always have companies coming to them for more traffic to their websites, and they will pay you for it. The very best woman to teach you about this is one who makes up to $100,000. a month! I kid you not, she has been blogging for more years than me, but she worked hard and learned what works. Her course is called Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing, and it’s packed full of wisdom that works.
A great place to start to earn money as an affiliate from your blog is through shareasale.com This company handles accounts with hundreds of companies who want you to put their ads on your blog. Share A Sale has an easy to use website and will give you suggestions for how to market these companies on your blog. You have to apply to be an affiliate, but it’s easy to do.
