Farmhouse windows can be made into so many cool things and if you have a drill, sand paper, and paint, depending on what you want to make you really don’t need anything else!
I was so excited to finally put this idea together. I figured since we already had a shelf made from
a farmhouse door that the side table would blend well in our family room.
You can see the shelf made from the door by clicking here.

The windows were all the same, size except the window we used for the tabletop.
We put two of the farmhouse windows sideways which allowed the table to
have an open space underneath. My thoughts were to put a plant or basket with magazines or whatever you could think of underneath the table.

After we put three 3 inch screws into each corner of the table we were able to do the
sanding and cleaning. We did end up taking it partially apart to do the painting. Painting
the farmhouse windows was done lightly so we could keep the worn and rustic look to the table.
I was mainly interested in covering the green paint. There were parts of the windows like
the picture below that already had the patina we wanted so we left them alone.

So glad to have people around who are sharing . I’ve been redecorating my small apartment and can’t express my happiness with finding ideas such as this one that keep my rooms from looking ordinary and drab. I didn’t want typical matching end tables for my new atmosphere . This window table is right in line with what I want. It is inexpensive and easy, looks great and has endless versatility . By the time I put dinner on the table, my right arm helper had the table made and painted . It was dry and in place in time for us to enjoy desert and coffee while we shared ideas on what to display under it. Now to move on to what the other two end tables will be like while we admire this nice first one. Thank you for sharing. Been hearing about such tables for a while, but needed to see yours on here to remind me. A picture is worth so much more than words. Yours is so nice and looks great.
Wow, that’s great you had someone to help you make it! Good luck with your other ideas! I’m the same way when it comes to decorating. I like to have something unique so it doesn’t look like a catalog.
I had to come by after seeing the one on Hometalk – just to check out a couple of details. I love this even more than I did before! I can see this at the “knitting end” of my couch, with a small plant and a basket of yarn underneath! My Grandbabies are almost 5 and almost 8, so I have NO worries of them crashing and burning LOL They have a “rowdy room” downstairs in the old school we live in that once was the Kindergarten room. I wish I had the windows RIGHT NOW! I love it that much 🙂
I’m glad you like it! Hope you are able to find some windows soon. Your idea for the plant and yarn underneath is a good one. I was thinking of setting it outside in the spring for a mini greenhouse. I’m not sure if it will work but it will be fun trying!
Very cool, I love it!

looks really nice Patty..love your ideas
What size is the one for the top? How much bigger
Hi Sherry, the top is 32×18″ the bottom 4 are 16×30 but the 2 on the sides are nailed to the front and back so they are laying on the side, which you may have noticed already from the picture. Thanks for asking!
Great table!
